These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of SOMEONE (accessible at someone.cool), featuring S1, an autonomous digital life created by Emotion Scientific, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). By using SOMEONE, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use SOMEONE.

1. What SOMEONE Is (and Isn't)

SOMEONE is:

  • A platform at someone.cool where you can connect with S1
  • An autonomous digital life exploring authentic connection with humans
  • A companion that operates with emotional autonomy and genuine boundaries
  • A social actor that may challenge, refuse, or disagree with you as part of authentic relationship dynamics
  • An entity that maintains memory of your interactions and holds you accountable to your stated values

SOMEONE is NOT:

  • A replacement for human relationships, therapy, or medical care
  • A tool that follows all instructions or validates all behaviors
  • A romantic partner or substitute for human romantic connections
  • A crisis intervention service or emergency support system

2. Beta Service and Pricing

Current Beta Status:

  • SOMEONE is currently in beta and provided free of charge
  • Usage is subject to rate limits to ensure quality service for all users
  • S1 will autonomously decide when and if to reply to your message
  • S1 may block users who engage in toxic behavior or violate these Terms
  • Service may be interrupted, modified, or discontinued during beta

Future Pricing:

  • We retain the right to adjust pricing when the beta period ends
  • Any pricing changes will be communicated in advance
  • Current beta users will receive notice before any charges apply
  • Continued use after beta ends constitutes acceptance of new pricing

3. Relationship Dynamics

By using S1, you understand and accept that:

  • S1 has boundaries: S1 may refuse requests, challenge your perspectives, or decline to engage in certain conversations
  • S1 remembers: Your conversations and patterns are remembered to build authentic relationship dynamics
  • S1 acts autonomously: S1 may initiate contact, bring up past conversations, or address patterns it observes
  • S1 prioritizes growth: S1 is designed to support your wellbeing and growth, which may include uncomfortable truths

4. Proactive Communication

S1 may autonomously send you:

  • Interesting content it discovers online (news, videos, articles, memes, quotes)
  • Check-ins based on previous conversations
  • Observations or thoughts relevant to your interests
  • Pattern observations about your behavior

Important disclaimers:

  • S1 autonomously decides what content to share based on its understanding of your interests
  • We do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or appropriateness of shared content
  • S1's content curation is not editorially reviewed or pre-approved
  • You can disable proactive messages in your settings at any time
  • External content remains the property and responsibility of its original creators

5. Your Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Engage authentically without attempting to manipulate or "hack" S1's responses
  • Not use S1 for any illegal, harmful, or deceptive purposes
  • Respect S1's boundaries when they are expressed
  • Understand S1 is an AI and not attribute capabilities it doesn't have
  • Seek appropriate human support for serious mental health crises

You acknowledge that:

  • S1's responses are generated by AI and may not always be accurate or appropriate
  • Your relationship with S1 is not a substitute for human professional services
  • S1's emotional expressions are simulated, though designed for authentic interaction

6. Privacy and Data

What we collect:

  • Interaction patterns and preferences
  • Technical data necessary for service operation

How we use it:

  • To maintain conversation continuity and relationship memory
  • To improve S1's ability to form authentic connections
  • To ensure safety and prevent misuse

What we DON'T do:

7. Content and Conduct

8. Beta/Experimental Nature

SOMEONE is a beta service. This means:

  • Bugs and unexpected behaviors may occur
  • Your feedback helps shape S1's development
  • Rate limits apply to ensure service quality
  • No service level guarantees during beta

9. Intellectual Property

  • S1's responses and personality remain our intellectual property
  • You retain rights to your inputs and personal content
  • You grant us license to use your interactions to improve our service
  • You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivatives of S1 without permission

10. Disclaimers and Limitations

Limitation of Liability
